Abidjan,Ivory Coast: Presentation of the methodology of the ex-ante evaluation of 22 ministries in Côte d'Ivoire during the launch ceremony.
The Financial Control Department of the Ministry of Budget has launched the ex-ante evaluation of 22 ministries in Côte d’Ivoire.

In order to improve the performance of public expenditure, the Ministry of the Budget of Cote d’Ivoire, in line with the directives of the UEMOA Council of Ministers of 2009 and with the technical assistance of DS Institute, launched the ex-ante evaluation of 22 ministries.
The main objective of this evaluation is to improve the quality of departmental program design. Specifically, it is about:
• Check the adequacy of the elements of public policy associated with budgetary appropriations in relation to the needs, issues and problems to be solved;
• Provide information, on the basis of which Financial Controllers can assess the value of ministry program performance projects;
• Inform administrative officials about the status, needs and gaps of ministerial programs before funding their implementation;
• Develop proposals for improving the quality of the design of ministerial programs.
The launch of this ex-ante evaluation took place in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire on August 4, 2020 and the final report is expected to be presented at the end of October 2020.
