Strengthen the capacity of SME support structures
Context
In Cote d’Ivoire, Small and Medium Enterprises represent around 87% of the industrial fabric, 18% of the GPD, 12% of the investments and 23% of modern jobs. However, Ivorian SMEs are very vulnerable. To build a strong and competitive SME ecosystem, the Government has adopted a development policy for SMEs in 2015. The principal objective of this study is to formulate and develop the strategic plan which will serve as as guide to the activities of the agency for 5 years.
Objectives
The objective of the mission was to strengthen the capacity of SME support institutions including the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the SME agency.
DSI services provided
- Assess the capacity gap of the Ministry of trade and industry, and the CISME agency (ACIPME -Agence de Côte d’Ivoire de PME),
- Develop a capacity building action plan for the ACIPME and the Ministry.
Results
Production of a report including the action plan for ACIPME and the Ministry.
